A youth-led movement ensuring no girl is left behind in Cameroon’s future.
In 2021, Ndum Charlotte Ayeah founded AAGYW Cameroon after witnessing the systemic barriers preventing girls from participating in civic life in Bamenda, North West Region. Limited education access, discriminatory norms, GBV, and economic exclusion were keeping girls and young women on the margins.
AAGYW started as a small community circle — but the need was immense. Within two years, the organisation was running five programs, serving 20+ communities, and partnering with leading international organisations. Today, AAGYW is a nationally recognised voice for adolescent girls and young women in Cameroon.
To advance the rights, health, leadership and participation of adolescent girls and young women in Cameroon through advocacy, community mobilisation, and direct service delivery.
A Cameroon where every adolescent girl and young woman exercises her rights, accesses quality education and healthcare, and leads without barriers.
AAGYW works at the intersection of community, policy and evidence. We don’t impose solutions — we start with the girls themselves, build their capacity, and amplify their voices so they can shape the systems around them.
Keeping your community clean and green, one pickup at a time for a healthier tomorrow for a clean earth & clear future.
