Born from a generation that refused to be defined by crisis.

AAGYW Cameroon was founded in 2021 by Ndum Charlotte Ayeah amidst the ongoing Anglophone Crisis. Like many young people across Cameroon’s North West and South West regions, the conflict disrupted her education, resulting in the loss of an academic year and reshaping what should have been a predictable path into adulthood.
For nearly a decade, conflict and insecurity have disrupted education, livelihoods, access to services, and opportunities for an entire generation of young people. For girls and young women, these challenges have often been compounded by violence, exclusion, and limited opportunities to influence the decisions affecting their lives.

AAGYW emerged from a simple conviction: those closest to the challenges should be closest to the decisions.

Today, we work to remove barriers, expand agency, and create opportunities for girls and young people to shape the decisions, policies, and systems that affect their lives and futures.
