AAGYW Cameroon is pleased to announce the award of a two-year grant that will enable the organisation to scale its girls’ civic leadership and SRHR programs to three additional regions of Cameroon. The grant will fund expansion activities beginning in the first quarter of 2024.
What the Grant Enables
Over the two-year period, the funding will support: expansion of Democracy Sidon Tok and Bold Conversations programming to the Adamawa, Littoral and Centre regions; recruitment and training of 120 new community facilitators; development of a comprehensive girls’ leadership curriculum; and a national SRHR awareness campaign targeting adolescent girls aged 12-19.
5,000 New Beneficiaries Targeted
The expansion is expected to reach an estimated 5,000 new adolescent girls and young women directly, with an additional 15,000 reached through community ripple effects. This would more than double AAGYW’s current annual reach.
AAGYW Cameroon’s Board Chair commented: “This grant is a recognition of what our team has built from the ground up. We are grateful to our funder for believing in our approach, and even more grateful to the thousands of girls who have trusted us with their stories and their futures.”
